About Tian Fu Lou
Located at 48 W 48th St, New York, NY 10036, Tian Fu Lou operates as a shanghainese serving New York in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.
The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. The most common schedule is 8 AMβ11 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Tian Fu Lou at (212) 719-1788; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Donβt go to this place. The food tastes terrible and the staff are rude. Itβs not the real Chinese food. The staffs were rushing us to finish when we were still working on our food.

Not great. Small buffet with limited options. The food was barely warm, and the veggie fried rice was bland. We got all three plates (only 2 entrees per plate) and 3 apple juices and a can of soda and spent $45 dollars. I've had better, cheaper asian food elsewhere. We ate it, but I would never go back and never recommend it.

It looked really nice on the photo. However, it literally had no taste. I don't know what other menus taste like, but I don't recommend beef stir-fried noodles.

One of my favorite places to eat for lunch. They have an above average menu and a pretty clean in store presentation for plating. The service is normally pretty decent although not exceptional all the time. They offer a buffet by the pound during the weekdays which is always pretty cool. I rarely have time to stay seeing as I go here during my lunch break. Pro tip! BRING CASH!

I walked in on the fly because I noticed the $6.99 buffet sign in the window. As I sat down I'm told there is no buffet. So reluctantly I reviewed the menu and noticed that there was nothing less than $11.95. Already dissapointed and paying twice what I had expected to, I thought It a safe bet to order sessame chicken w/ white rice. I WAS WRONG. What was placed infront of me was sweet and sour checken mixed with sessame seeds. When I called them out on it they did nothing. So to summerize fasle advertising, over priced, horrible service, and worst Chinese food in NY.
